We represent both sides of the bar – plaintiffs and defendants alike – depending on the needs of our clients and the circumstances of the case. While we approach every dispute with a strategy for out-of-court resolution, we do not pursue settlement when no real hope for settlement exists. Your interests may be best served in bypassing pointless, expensive maneuvering and heading directly to trial.

Sacks Tierney's litigation group represents commercial clients in all phases of litigation, from federal to local courts. We regularly handle contested matters from the simplest breach of contract to complex, multiple-party litigation.

Experience in All Courts and Multiple Jurisdictions

State courts. A significant portion of our litigation work is devoted to representing business and individual clients in the state courts of Arizona, including the Maricopa County Superior Court. We also occasionally assist in Justice Courts and Municipal Courts. Some Sacks Tierney litigators are also admitted to practice in other states, including Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Texas and California.

Federal courts. Our attorneys are experienced in the federal court system and litigate matters in all federal courts, primarily in the District of Arizona.

Tribal courts. Court admissions for Sacks Tierney litigators include certain Indian tribes and tribal communities, including the Navajo Nation, Hualapai Tribal Nation, Hopi Nation, Tohono O'odham Nation, Navajo Nation, Ak-Chin Indian Community and Gila River Indian Community.

Appeals. We handle appeals from state and federal court alike, and our attorneys have appeared of record in numerous noteworthy decisions in virtually every jurisdiction.

Contested administrative matters. The firm is involved in numerous administrative trials and hearings as well as any needed judicial review as a result of any such matter. We have appeared as counsel in licensing hearings, revocation hearings, and hearings of all kinds before most of the administrative bodies in Arizona.

Arbitration. We regularly serve as advocates in American Arbitration Association proceedings and arbitrations under State Statutes, many involving construction or commercial matters.
